Socializing your puppy at the beginning

When socializing your puppy to new and unfamiliar events, start off on the right foot by remember few rules. Your pup will greatly benefit from you being a good pet parent and will grow up to enjoy all the world’s wonders.

• Always let your pup go at her own pace. Never force her into a situation that makes her nervous of apprehensive
• If she becomes startled at something, try to redirect her to something more pleasant. Think of things that she enjoys like treats, a squeaky toy or kissy sound.
• After you have her attention, the puppy parents involved can remove the pups from the unwanted situation.

Remember, if we coddle pups like our human kids when things startle them, we are encouraging them to become fearful and sensitive dogs throughout their lives.
